Shady Grove Elementary School's

Race Beneficiaries

Over the years, our Spring Zing event has supported our own school, and global and local organizations:

  • We have supported our Home & School Association to support the educational needs at Shady Grove, providing assemblies, teacher grants, and technology, such as digital cameras and scanners.  We provide funds for Science Night, Author-In-Residence, Reading Olympics, Art Goes to School, Field Day, Snack Fund, Field Trip support, and so much more.
  • We have built playgrounds at Shady Grove for all of our students to enjoy.
  • We built and continued to support Shady Grove Ethiopia School for many years.  (Sadly, this area in Ethiopia is in a state of political unrest and many schools and universities have had to shut their doors.)
  • We have supported scholarship funds, such as the Ray Campion Jr. Scholarship Fund and the Kasander Education Fund.
  • We have supported the local community cupboard, the Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard.
  • We have supported Inter-Faith Housing Alliance, a local organization fighting homelessness.

This year, our race beneficiaries are:

  • Shady Grove's Home & School Association, to continue to provide for the educational needs of our students at Shady Grove.
  • The Wissahickon Valley Boys and Girls Club, a satellite of the North Penn Valley Boys and Girls Club right here in Ambler, which provides programs that include after school and summer programs, homework assistance, career development, health and wellness skills, athletics, mentoring, and more, to our local youth.
